Tiziana Ramella Farm
Slow Food Travel
Localita: Sordevolo
The Muanda pasture, managed by the Ramella family above Sordevolo, represents the historical interaction between agriculture and the mountains. Cows of the Pezzata Rossa d'Oropa breed are raised here, using only their milk to produce cheeses such as toma, primo sale, whey ricotta and alpine butter, the latter of which is Slow Food Presidium certified. The cows graze freely from April to November, absorbing the aromas of the mountain flora, which enriches the dairy products. The farm's products are sold directly and in stores in the Elvo valley and in Biella.
