The unknown plain of the Biella region

23 In the name of taste and ... curiosities!

The very pleasant itinerary, departing from Verrone Castle, runs almost entirely on the lesser-known and less-traveled roads of the lower Biellese and Serra di Ivrea area, reaching as far as lapping Lake Viverone. On the approach, one crosses the striking Bessa Park, amid the incredible mining excavations dating back to Roman times and the gigantic, and much older, erratic boulders. From the adjacent Cerrione Castle to Roppolo Castle, two visits are planned from the friendly managers of the “La Soleggiata” Farm (organic apples) and the Manfrinati Winery (with the possibility of purchase).

A stop for lunch is planned about halfway through the hike.

The return trip will wind through the rice fields east of Salussola, until we return to Verrone Castle where, inside the hall of Falseum - Museum of Fake and Deception, a pleasant concert will close the tour on our beloved two wheels.
