Discover the beauty of the Valle Elvo

SI-1 A scenic loop taking you through charming villages, pristine nature, and breathtaking views as you explore the Valle Elvo and the Serra Morenica.

The route begins in the heart of Mongrando, right from the Town Hall square.
After the first few pedal strokes, a splendid view opens up over the Valle Elvo, offering a taste of the variety of landscapes that will accompany us along this loop.

The climb starts gently, and if you wish, you can take a short detour to the Vallino Woods, a little-known but truly enchanting green spot.
You then cross a particularly beautiful forest section with a rough surface: be careful on humid days, as in some points it may be necessary to push your bike for about 200–300 metres.

Back on the paved road, you continue past a historic washhouse, in front of which a small community library adds a poetic touch to your ride.

You soon reach Muzzano, where the famous Big Bench welcomes you with an exceptional view of Monte Mucrone, the Valle Elvo, and the nearby B&B Cascina Serra.

The ride continues along the hillside on asphalt, offering stunning views of the mountains and the Sanctuary of Graglia.
You then pass through Casale Gatto, where you can stop at the Birra Elvo Brewery, and shortly after, you’ll find Rossella Rasori, a local herbalist with deep expertise.

Once in Netro, you pass near the Ecomuseum dedicated to ironworking. From here, the surface changes: an unpaved section begins, crossing the Mulin 'dla Sareja and climbing a short but challenging segment where you might need to walk your bike for a while.

Following part of the dam trail, you get closer to the Serra Morenica, the longest morainic ridge in Europe, pedalling through wild, silent landscapes.
Finally, you return to asphalt for the last gentle descent back to Mongrando, completing a loop of rare beauty.

This is a varied and engaging itinerary, weaving together nature, villages, stories, and local flavours – ideal for those seeking an authentic cycle touring experience with a few challenges and plenty of surprises.
